Information for Patients

Understand Your Cancer and Your Choices

A good decision starts with understanding. Each condition page on this site explains how the cancer is diagnosed and staged, which treatments are usually considered at each stage, and which questions are worth asking.

Several pages also include validated calculators, such as PSA density, risk group and recurrence scores, so you can arrive at your consultation already familiar with your own numbers.

What to Keep Ready

  • All PSA and blood reports, with dates
  • CT, MRI or PET reports, with images on CD or a link
  • Biopsy and histopathology reports
  • Previous operation notes and discharge summaries
  • A list of current medicines, including blood thinners

An in-person examination may be advised before surgery.
